I partnered with Adelsheim Vineyard’s in-house marketing team to revitalize the historic winery’s brand. It started with illustrating their different vineyard plots, emphasizing the unique attributes of each that influence the wines’ characteristics. Then it moved into integrating hand-drawn elements throughout the experience, and overhauling everything from menu suites to packaging to labels. Honestly, my work for Adelsheim covered so many areas, it’s hard to pick my favorites! I love stories of the land, and the work represented here tells the tale marvelously.
Differing from the Creative Direction section for Adelsheim, here are other assets I designed for them, without wearing the creative director hat.
Icons I illustrated for a variety of projects, from tasting guides to vineyard maps to wine club print materials.
I modified the Adelsheim logo for their 50th anniversary. These were used in place of their normal logo throughout that year.
Icons I created to quickly distinguish the type of soil a vineyard is planted.
I designed the winery's holiday guides for several years, which were distributed mainly in digital format, and were roughly a dozen pages in length.
The winery released 2018 vintage magnums of wine, featuring updated versions of some of their historic labels. I took the old labels, cleaned them up, and did extensive Photoshopping to replace the old text with new varietal information. Below are the original historic labels, and above are the new labels mocked up on magnum bottles.
For Adelsheim's 2020 Artist Series Rosé, they commissioned the amazing artist Jeremy Okai Davis to paint three different figures for three different labels. I had the immense pleasure of modifying his original work (above) for the final labels (below).
Digital ads used during the covid-19 lockdown, when customers couldn't yet enjoy Adelsheim wines in their tasting room.
