A seasoned creative and communications leader, Stephanie Duffy brings a wealth of experience across a breadth of media and industries. Renowned for her versatility — encompassing brand and creative direction, design, and writing — Stephanie tackles projects with a collaborative spirit and infectious enthusiasm.
If there’s one thing Stephanie has been consistent about in her life, it’s always keeping things interesting.
She’s competed in Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting competitions, and has a trophy from the latter. She studied marine biology while living in coastal British Columbia. She swam through narrow Belizean caves, finding ancient Mayan skeletons and artifacts in the process. She climbed Mt. Hood in the wee hours of Father’s Day with her dad. Once upon a time she was an award-winning trombonist. She dated a Macedonian while living in Italy, their only common language being Italian. She brewed a feminist beer with Full Sail Brewing, and was written up about it in Autostraddle, among other publications. She volunteers in her kids’ school library and garden, as well as in the neighborhood. Her first job after college was working within a group of agricultural scientists. She once recorded songs with Weezer, singing and playing the spoons. She can lecture you on slugs and snails just as much as she can on serif and san serif fonts. She’s been on the Price is Right and a Canadian reality TV show. Products she designed have been on television and in hundreds of stores across the continent. She would gladly snowbird as an artist in Joshua Tree.
She is deeply passionate about libraries, dinner parties, conservation and biodiversity, zines, creating and maintaining community, good coffee, asking questions, communicating with empathy and clarity, the perfect playlist for the perfect occasion, inclusive and equitable spaces for all people (especially marginalized ones), always learning something new, and sharing a good story.
When she’s not attached to a screen, you'll find Stephanie… soaking up the outdoors—on a trail, in the garden, or near the water… making weird art… juggling an audiobook and a physical book at the same time… cheering on drag queens… escaping to a family farm… working on a creative side project (or two!)… rallying her community around a cause… rummaging through little free libraries… sharing far too many facts about Pacific Northwest bugs and critters.
